Edwin Chia
Edwin, the Founder and Director of Corpfin Consulting, is an experienced corporate finance advisor with transaction and finance experience in Australia and the UK. He loves to see his clients thrive and go from success to success.
His specific expertise and experience includes:
Selling businesses, seeking out appropriate acquirers and preparing the company for the transaction
Buying businesses including deal structuring and acquisition due diligence
Raising equity capital, be it through Private Equity or Venture Capital
Raising debt through traditional or alternative sources
Post-transaction integration and implementation of 100 day plans, Board reporting packs etc
Strategic advice on growth options, and building financial models to forecast these
Acting / Interim CFO roles
Project management for special projects
What makes him tick? He is passionate about seeing his clients do well and succeed, and seeks to build long lasting relationships. He has the ability to understand the bigger picture of what you are seeking to achieve, and subsequently providing hands-on and detailed support, advice and guidance to assist in achieving them.
Edwin was previously Director at Grant Thornton and Associate Director at boutique investment bank Kidder Williams, and is well-connected in the Melbourne business and professional community. He has led and/or been involved in transactions totalling over $1 billion in deal value.
In his spare time Edwin enjoys photography (with all the images on this website his own), playing the guitar, and learning the art (or science) of golf.
Julia Maddocks
Julia is an experienced Head of Finance with a demonstrated history of working with fast growing businesses and is a Chartered Accountant.
Julia has held a number of senior finance roles in industry. Her most recent role prior to joining Corpfin was as Head of Finance for Marketplacer, a venture capital backed fast growing technology business. Aside from technology, Julia has also worked across the industries of retail and consumer goods.
Julia is also experienced in implementing process improvements and new systems to support a more efficient finance function, including scaling finance teams This includes
Leading financial reporting functions, and expansions into overseas jurisdictions
The development of financial processes, procedures and documentation to support successful audit programs.
Implementing improvements to financial and governance processes to allow for scale and effective control.
Strong experience in systems implementation.
Outside of work, Julia can be found on the tennis courts and raising her young family.
Vincent Bui
Vincent joined Corpfin since 2024 while also completing his Masters in International Business from Melbourne School of Business. Vincent is also a CFA Charterholder.
With his commercial mindset and passion for learning, Vincent has seen different aspects of running and scaling businesses from financing to strategy and operations. Prior to joining Corpfin, Vincent has had five years of corporate finance experience across service and manufacturing sectors.
In 2018, he began his career at MindChamps, a publicly listed early childhood education provider based in Singapore, where his role included managing working capital and providing detailed revenue and expense drivers’ analysis for a growing business.
In 2020, Vincent joined TTC AgriS, a leading Vietnamese agribusiness company, as a corporate development analyst. In this role, Vincent gained extensive exposure to financial modelling and valuation and was involved in the end-to-end execution of debt and equity deals with combined value of over US$250 million.
Outside of work, Vincent enjoys playing badminton and listening to podcasts on investing.
